Social work with clients addicted to gambling

This bachelor thesis deals with social work with clients addicted to gambling. The thesis is theoretical and divided into three chapters. The first chapter deals with the definition of addiction, common features of non-substance and substance addiction and symptoms of addictive behavior. The second chapter describes gambling as well as the associated problem of gambling addiction, in other words pathological gambling. It also deals with the types of gambling, online gambling, the effects of gambling addiction and the regulation of gambling in the Czech Republic. The third chapter focuses on social work with clients addicted to gambling. It describes social counseling which aims to stabilize the addict's social conditions, through brief intervention and debt counseling. Another important subchapter is working with the family and strengthening the motivation of addicts.
Methods of Social Work in Families with a Child in the Terminal Phase of a Disease

Annotation: The aim of the thesis " Methods of Social Work in Families with a Child in the Terminal Phase of a Disease" is to answer the basic research question, which reads: "How do the social workers of selected Prague organizations focusing on child palliative care perceive the application of methods of social work with child clients in the terminal stage of the disease? " A partial aim of this thesis is to describe the current state of child palliative care in the Czech Republic. The purpose of this diploma thesis is not to map all the methods of social work that could be used in practice, but to note the seriousness, the topicality of the problems and to point out the different perception of the given situation.
Analysis methods of work at a boarding form of preventive educational care

This master thesis deals with the importance of preventive educational care where educational care centres belong. More specifically the thesis is focused on Educational Care Centre in Domažlice. The theoretical part characterizes the principle of stay in hall of residence and mainly the methods and forms of work which are used during working with clients. Furthermore, it describes the cooperation with other subjects and organizations which the educational care centre cooperates with and in this way supports the client to improve his/her behaviour. For the practical part, the qualitative research was chosen with the usage of designs of case study and especially the methods of grounded theory. The research was focused on the influence of the methods and forms of work on the change, reducing or eliminating already developed behaviour disorders. The influence is evaluated from the clients and their parents' perspective. On the grounds of the research the responses on the research questions are formulated at the end of the thesis. Application of family therapy at work with addicted clients - qualitative probe, experience of therapists

of the thesis Background: Involvement of close persons of drug users may have a significant impact on the success of all types of treatment programs. Thus, family therapy or work with families is an effective form of treatment for both adults and teens who have problems with alcohol and illegal drugs. Involvement of persons close to drug users into treatment process is associated with finding professional help at an early stage of drug use, with a higher degree of involvement of drug users in treatment process as higher retention, with significant reductions in drug use after treatment and also improving the social behavior of drug users. Therefore is offered the question: how family therapy is indicated at work with addicted clients, and when this method is contraindicated. The aim of this work is to find out how is indicated the family therapy or therapeutic work with the family at work with addicts, from the perspective of clinicians, and when, according to their experience, family therapy is not recommended or contraindicated. Methodology: Data were obtained through semi-structured interview, the respondents were employees of ambulatory institutions providing psychotherapy services to drug addictions and their families.
